Spring in Shanghai

Shanghai is been really amazing for me so far … Those eateries, hidden alleys, the smells and many more …

Slowly, I start to feel something for the city … Perhaps I would live in this city one day ...

It was just one of the random stuff that I came across during one of my visits … A friend of mine who works for TimeOut Shanghai asked me to join her for one of her fieldwork to a “hidden” bookstore at Julu Lu …

From outside, it was nothing like a bookstore. From the inside, it was just so cozy, more like a living room or your own private library. It did not have lots of English collection, but wide range of interesting Chinese collection (perhaps it’s about a time for me to actually learn Mandarin) … It does serve light beverages and the shop keeper was just so friendly (Ps. She is also a translator; in fact she was working on translating one English book to Chinese when we were there).

Bought a book for RMB 30 (pretty reasonable price for a second-hand book) and pretty much still in good condition … The shop keeper mentioned that the book that I bought is really comical … Hope will get the chance to read the book over the weekend …

Style is affordable

Recently, I read an article from Her World Singapore and it just struck me in the head …

Quoting from the article, MaxMara regional manager Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti said, “You can easily find products which possess their own identity, even if they are really cheap.”

I couldn’t agree more … The most important thing is ones have to dress according to his/her own identity … 20 bucks dress might appear as a thousand dollar dress as long as one wears it right …

Personally, I do love affordable fashion, I do shop a lot at GAP (my favourite brand J) esp. during sale when I can get 5 different outfits for less than SGD 150 … Mix and match it with those designers accessories and voila they just look amazing …

Check out my best find of scarlet red dress for CNY (STEAL – SGD 20 from Hula&Co 313 Somerset) …

Movie: What's Your Number?

SYNOPSIS
Ally Darling (Anna Faris), a single woman in Boston, had a knack for sleeping with all the wrong men.
On the day that she get sacked from her marketing job, she came across an article in Marie Claire that tells that 96 percent of the women in the United States who have had 20 or more lovers cannot find a husband. It also mentioned that a woman on average sleeps with 10.5 men during her lifetime.
It made her freaked out –as her number is “19”- and become desperate to get hitched. She also swears off bedding man ...
Ally decides to go through her list of ex boyfriends to hopefully discover they have changed for the better and give them a second chance in love.
Ally began to hunt down hers exes with the help from her neighbor, Colin (Chris Evans), who is a hunky struggling musician.
Check out some of her exes that she and Colin managed to track down ;p …
After series of funny yet hilarious encounters with her exes, Ally actually ended up with Colin …

Not only that but, it turned out that she only slept with 19 guys so far … which made Colin being the 20th J
This movie is quite an entertainment and thou will definitely have a good laugh while watching it … Really love this movie, the fact that who cares with the "number" and whom thou had been sleeping with ... The most important part is the feeling that a person feel towards another human being ...
So, DON’T MISS IT!!!

Ladies Movie Night: “What’s Your Number?”

Another ladies movie night movie preview screening …
This time round was hold by Shaw in collaboration with Cosmopolitan magazine
The movie for the night is “What’s Your Number”
Each attendees also received a goodie bag consisted of Cosmopolitan magazines (September & October issues), Cosmopolitan tote bag and notebook and Sarah Jessica Parker Covet perfume vial
This is one of the best ladies movie night movie preview screening that Mel have attended so far … Not only coz of the goodies bag but also because of the movie itself … It is a typical chick flick but yet it is also funny and entertaining, not to forget, it has a really good and deep meaning …
